Real Weddings – Sarah + Nathan

Sarah and Nathan’s story began when they were both small children; with mothers who are best friends, the pair grew up together, even spending Christmases with one another’s families. As they got older, it soon became apparent they had a connection neither could ignore. A blossoming romance ensued, and in May of 2020, Nathan proposed with Sarah’s late grandmother’s wedding ring. Despite the COVID-19 pandemic posing many obstacles throughout the planning process, the couple were grateful for attending the Melbourne Wedding & Bride Expo and meeting two very helpful vendors, Allie Claire Creative – who took flawless photos in her signature warm, candid style – and Directors Edge, who eternalised the day through video. Sarah and Nathan wed beneath the beautiful Wisteria Arch at Potters Receptions, mixing it up with ‘Ninja Vows’ – the bride and groom wrote each other’s vows and didn’t know what the other wrote until it was time to read them out loud! Effortlessly fitting into the boho theme, Sarah wore an ivory dress with off the-shoulder sleeves from Fairytales Bridal Boutique, plus a lovely floral headpiece that complemented Nathan’s flower-patterned tie. Lark Music provided a mix of music for the ceremony and reception, including a DJ to finish off the night. The happy couple honeymooned in Tasmania, balancing adventure with relaxation to start off married life right.
